Hyderabad: In a significant boost to the Young India Skill University initiative, multiple international universities have expressed their support and willingness to collaborate through Tconsult, a platform spearheaded by Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Chairman of WTITC and TITA. These institutions, including the University of Texas at Dallas, Durban University of Technology, Silicon Andhra University, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Sultan Qaboos University, University of Sharjah, and Malaysia University of Science and Technology, have officially written letters to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, according to a media release.

The letters conveyed their eagerness to participate in the exchange program, offering their campuses for immersion programs for Telangana students and reciprocally sending their students to learn about the technological ecosystem in Telangana. This collaborative effort underscores the global commitment to advancing skill development and industry-oriented education.

In a personal engagement, Sundeep Makthala handed over the letters from the universities to Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu at the Minister's Quarters. The University of Texas Director Dr Jey spoke with the Minister over a call, extending his support to the skill university through Tconsult and a personal invitation to visit the university during their upcoming visit to the USA. Dr Jey also highlighted the ongoing Artificial Intelligence International Internship program with WTITC and TITA. Minister Sridhar Babu appreciated the invitation and commended Sundeep Makthala for his role in connecting these prestigious universities to the Young India Skill University.

The Young India Skill University, introduced by IT & Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, is a public-private partnership initiative aimed at providing three-year degree and diploma programs that impart industry-oriented skills. The university, located in Mucherla on the outskirts of Hyderabad, will follow a ‘hub-and-spoke’ model, with skill centres in various districts. The State government has proposed an investment of Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore for its establishment, focusing on creating employment opportunities and converting ITIs into advanced knowledge centers.

While handing over the letters to the Minister, WTITC HR Council Chairman Maddela Ramchander, Eswar Kandukoori, Shivprasad, and others participated.
